Dealer Monitoring Programmes
Caltec’s unannounced Service Department audits provide in-depth checks of all Service Department systems and functions including physical checks of vehicles in the workshop, all paperwork associated with service, repair, or vehicle preparation, any quality controls in place, and outputs from vehicle health-checks and follow up.
Findings are presented to relevant personnel and copies of reports are provided. For group and/or repeat visit programmes, results are analysed highlighting faults found, trends, observations and recommendations with the view to identifying and implementing best practice.
Health & Safety Audits / Risk Assessments
Caltec carries out site visits to assess and report on the extent to which current Health and Safety legislation is met and provide guidance and advice.
Findings are discussed with staff on site, a copy of the completed assessment checklists together with a report on our findings and recommendations plus any relevant guidance notes are provided.
MOT Audits and Quality Checks
Caltec carries out MOT open and/or incognito checks of MOT inspection processes and administrative functions to ensure procedures are being followed in order to minimise the risk of penalties resulting from spot checks carried out by the Ministry of Transport.
Findings are presented and reports provided to staff on site. For group and/or repeat visit programmes we provide analysis of the results on an ongoing basis in the form of a spreadsheet identifying faults found, trends, observations and recommendations.
Caltec carries out Mystery Shops covering all aspects of the after-sales process from booking, workshop procedures, workmanship quality, customer follow up to vehicle handover.
Findings are reported to staff on site and centrally to the Dealer Group or Franchise. We also provide analysis identifying faults found, trends, observations and recommendations with the view to making long term improvements.
Quality System Development & Monitoring
Caltec provides advice and practical help with the design and implementation of Quality Assurance systems such as ISO9000, PAS 125 and PAS 43 based on tried and tested models successfully applied in Sales, Service, Parts, Recovery, Body & Paint Functions in the Retail Motor Industry for the past 20 Years.
An internal audit service is also available for those clients who require it to ensure compliance prior to Certification Body surveillance visits.
Sales & Aftersales Audits
Caltec undertakes auditing of sales, service, parts, and body shop activities on behalf of large and medium franchised dealers throughout the UK, working on client premises and using existing field staff engineers and assessors.

To act as external independent auditors on behalf of Automotive Manufacturers to monitor and report on the extent to which Dealers and Authorised Repairers comply with the availability of Workshop Equipment, Mandatory Special Tools and Diagnostic Equipment defined in the Authorised Repairer contract.
