Regional Field Engineer – Calibration & Inspection

Job description:
Caltec (ATC) Limited is a leading Calibration and Inspection Company offering on-site services to the Automotive Sector throughout the UK. Due to retirement & to satisfy customer requirements, we are looking to recruit a full time Calibration/Inspection Engineer. Following training, the successful candidate will carry out on-site tool & equipment calibrations and Loler inspections in Oxfordshire. Applicants will need to live in this location & at times, will be visiting dealerships and independent garages in neighbouring areas too. All Engineers are expected to support colleagues when necessary; for example, to cover holiday & sickness absence. This could involve travelling further distances & therefore necessitate staying away from home.

We will provide a vehicle, laptop, training and the specialist equipment required to carry out your tasks efficiently. Supporting this role is our head office team based in Cheshire.
Key Skills:
- Minimum qualification: C&G level 2/3, Ideally NVQ level 3, HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- An Engineering background is essential together with a general interest in Quality & Compliance and technology
- Previous experience in calibration is preferred, but not essential as job-specific training will be given.
- Strong levels of numeracy and literacy with experience of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) are required.
- A conscientious approach to work with a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy of measurements & records is imperative.
- A clean driving licence is essential for the position.
- You must be able to speak English confidently.
- You will work to specific measurements and processes, to meet Calibration, Health & Safety standards & Government Regulations.
- A flexible approach to working hours is required as on occasion there will be early starts/late finishes. In general, you should find the role provides for a better work life balance
- It may be necessary to stay the odd night away
