What is ISO 9001?
To have ISO 9001 certification means that your organisation’s quality management systems (QMS) are up to the international ISO 9001 standard. This standard demonstrates that your organisation consistently provides products or services that are up to requirements. The standard does not define the quality of services or products, but it demonstrates that your process is up to standard which should, in theory, result in high quality services or products. Your organisation then needs to be audited by an accredited organisation – and must be re-accredited every three years – in order to maintain your ISO status.
